College Football Week 10

We figured out where a lot of teams stand on Saturday, three main teams come to mind  in a negative way, TCU, LSU, and Michigan State. TCU had struggled earlier in the year so it's not all that surprising they got beat, but I didn't expect to see them be beaten by 20.  Especially given that Oklahoma State has struggled just as much if not more with teams that are worse than them. But if you watch the highlights you can easily see why TCU lost, they were terrible on defense and Trevone Boykin who was a possible Heisman candidate, threw four interceptions. TCU actually had the ball for over ten more minutes than the Cowboys and gain about 200 more yards of total offense and 20 more first downs than Oklahoma State but turnovers and big plays hurt TCU. LSU was completely manhandled in what was one of the biggest games of the year and one of the most surprising outcomes. Alabama beat LSU in almost every statistic and it wasn't even close. Alabama deserves the most credit for stopping Heisman candidate Leonard Fournette, limiting him to 31 yards on 19 carries. But to be clear it wasn't all Fournette's fault, in fact it's hard to blame him at all. The holes were just non-existent, and it doesn't matter how good a running back is, if he doesn't have at least a little hole, he can't do anything. I would say this performance likely puts LSU out of the playoff simply because they were badly embarrassed on national television in their biggest game of the season.

Michigan State lost on a call that everyone other than Nebraska fans knows was complete crap. You can watch the play here and see that the Nebraska receiver stepped out on his own. In college football a receiver cannot step out of bounds on their own and then come back in to the field of play and be the first to touch the ball. If the player is pushed out than that rule is ignored, but the Michigan State player was simply putting his hand out to keep track with the receiver, something that is completely legal is a common occurrence in football. Nevertheless Michigan State got away with a very wild ending in a game they should of lost to Michigan so I don't exactly feel sorry for them. They probably should've won that game, but they couldn't put away Nebraska and that is what happens.

There were three other minor upsets last week, Navy beat #13 Memphis, Arkansas beat #18 Ole Miss in overtime, and Auburn beat #19 Texas A&M.
